The 442.15 MHz repeater group is offering a cash reward for information leading up to the identification of the individual sometimes heard on the repeater commonly known as “the belcher”. The belcher, someone who was transmitting a recording of a belch and currently a recording of drain water, has been heard on the repeater since February of year 2000. The individual has been knowingly, willfully and maliciously interfering with our amateur radio service repeater for over 29 months. These acts are illegal as described in part 97 of the FCC Rules and regulations and punishable by fine and imprisonment of $10,000 and or 1 year for each documented occurrence. The FCC is aggressively prosecuting individuals involved in this type of activity and have been levying heavy fines as of late. We have diverted repeater funds to the pursuit of this terrorist -and will use all the technology and resources available to bring this fugitive in.
