AARC is an ARRL Special Service Club.  The club maintains an HF Station (W5KA) at the the American Red Cross,
and a repeater on 146.78 MHz -600 Khz.  The repeater has an open autopatch.
The Austin Amateur Radio Club meets on the second Tuesday of Each Month at 7:00pm at the Sirloin Stockade at 5607 N Lamar Blvd.

It's easy to join the club. Dues are $8 ($10 for a family membership).
You can join both Austin clubs (Austin Repeater Organization and Austin ARC) for $15 per year.

How to use the autopatch. It's your basic star (*) up and pound (#) down patch.

  1. Announce your callsign.
  2. Press * and dial the number (Do not unkey after *)
  3. Press # to end the call

Just dial 911 without the * for 911 calls.
Redial is 7*, Patch extend is 7*3.
